📥 Response rate

How many people will participate on my AI interview and how can I improve click through rate?
Below there’s a real-world example of an interview project which a client recently launched at QualiaInterviews. We can look at the Interview List (see
🗃 The Interview List tab
) to find out more about the response rate.
Sessions: 148 people clicked to open the interview, and 56 of them sent at least one message to Qualia. This gives the project a click-through rate of 37%. That’s pretty good compared to an ordinary online questionnaire.

When examining the data from the transcripts, only 5 interviews had fewer than 5 turns (or pairs of messages). We at QualiaInterviews consider 5 turns to be the minimum for beginning a meaningful conversation and providing useful information. This means over 90% of interviewees did continue to have a meaningful conversation — and give useful data — once they started. That’s a very good completion rate!

Interestingly, we've noticed that the participants of this particular interview appear to be more engaged compared to those in similar interviews. This was an interview about their religion and their religious community and our theory is was the sense of community they feel around religion encourages them to participate more actively in the exercise. However, the author explained that they worked very hard on sending the links and ensuring engagement.

Take-home points:
  • Clickthrough and completion rate for AI-interviews at Qualia can be very good
  • As with any other data collection method, it’s still all about how you reach out to and engage your interviewees. Be as personal as you can. Make sure they know who you are and why you’d like to interview them.
